Allen Griffin is founder and president of Gryphon Builders and Gryphon Property Services. He is a Certified Graduate Remodeler, Graduate Master Builder, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, and a Certified Green Professional with 20 years of experience in the building industry.
Allen was recently honored as the 2009 Remodeler of Year. He also earned several other prestigious accolades including the 2007 National Association of Home Builders Certified Graduate Remodeler of the Year. He is an EPA Accredited Instructor for the Certified Lead Renovator course. Allen was recently honored as the featured builder in the May/June 2011 issue of Texas Builder magazine.
As a ten year member of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), Allen's commitment to raising the bar in his industry has led him to serve the organization in multiply capacities. Allen has been involved with the GHBA board of directors, and is currently the Membership Committee Chair for the GHBA Custom Builders Council board. He serves on the Education Committee, the Membership Committee and has been on the Remodelors Council board of directors for several years.
In 2009, Allen served as the president of the GHBA Remodelors Council (RMC). While president of the GHBA Remodelors Council in 2009, Allen, his board of directors, and their committees where able to increase membership, reestablish the Sandcastle Competition event, raise $14,000 for charity projects and received three national council awards for outstanding accomplishment in Membership, Charity Projects and Community Outreach.
With a desire for continued growth, Allen has taken on the challenge of creating an additional business, separate from remodeling that will focus on multifamily residential preservation. In addition to all his career achievements, Allen is blessed with two children, Kayla and Avery and enjoys activities such as hunting, fishing, and traveling with both of them.
