This National Association of Home Builders' professional designation is exclusively designed to emphasize business management skills as the key to a professional remodeling firm. To obtain this designation, one must have a minimum of five years experience in the remodeling industry and complete coursework suitable for this exclusive designation.
This designation teaches the technical and customer relations skills essential to compete in the fastest growing segment of the remodeling industry: Home modifications for the aging-in place. These modifications enable homeowners to remain safely and comfortably in their OWN HOME. Hands on experiences are used to illustrate and gain a better understanding of the struggles one could face and brings them to real life.
The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only. Before beginning the GMB designation process, you must have the CGB designation, the CGR designation, or the CGA designation with five years of building experience, or ten years of building experience and have completed three CGB/CGR/CGA courses. GMB courses are more advanced with in-depth instruction geared for experienced building professionals.
The National Association of Home Builders' Certified Green Professional designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes--without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.
Presented by the Greater Houston Builders Association, this annual award is presented to a GHBA remodeler
and active member who upholds
the highest standards and credentials for
both himself and the Remodelors Council (RMC). While president of the RMC in 2009, Allen, his board of directors, and their committees where able to increase membership, reestablish the Sandcastle Competition event, raise $14,000 for charity projects and received three national council awards for outstanding accomplishment in Membership, Charity Projects and Community Outreach.
Presented by Texas Association of Builders since 1992, the Star Awards are the only statewide tribute to excellence in the home building industry. The awards showcase the outstanding work of builders, remodelers, architects, designers, sales professionals, marketing professionals, construction professionals and industry leaders.
The Star Awards is part of the Sunbelt Builders Show™ and includes states from across the Sunbelt region of Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. With more than 75 categories to choose from and hundreds of entries each year, it is an impressive feat to be identified as a finalist, let alone a winner.
